SCOTT aims to extend the IoT for wirelessly connected smart sensors and actuators to be used in mobility, building & home / smart infrastructure, and health domains. It will not just deal with 'things that are connected', but with 'trustable things that securely communicate'. SCOTT will therefore enable efficient, trustworthy connectivity and facilitate ubiquity of intelligent embedded systems and systems of systems. Inter alia, SCOTT will establish a ‘Trusted System Development Framework’, will provide measurable security, and will create an unprecedented ‘privacy labelling’ to create sustainable trust in the IoT.

TrustVehicle aims at advancing technical solutions for automated driving to better assess critical situations in mixed traffic scenarios and even under harsh environmental conditions, hence increasing safety far beyond the current levels.
The project follows a user-centric approach and will provide solutions which significantly increase reliability and trustworthiness of automated vehicles and contribute to end-user acceptance.
The output of TrustVehicle is extensively assessed in real-world operating conditions on three demonstrators representing three vehicle classes. Special focus will be put on the demonstration of the fault-tolerant and fail-operational system behavior as well as 24/7 availability. End-users of the technology will systematically and thoroughly be involved to express their requirements, expectations, and concerns.

ARTEMIS Industry Association strives for a leading position of Europe in Embedded Intelligence. As private partner in ECSEL Joint Undertaking, ARTEMIS-IA supports formation of consortia and initiation of project proposals for joint collaboration and creates the meeting place where key industry players and other R&D&I actors identify strategic high priority topics for collaborative R&I projects.

Mobility.E Lighthouse Initiative supports the roadmap towards safe, electric, automated/ autonomous and connected smart mobility.

The lighthouse focuses on addressing major technological, legal and infrastructure innovation challenges facing the large-scale deployment of safe, electrically powered, automated/autonomous and connected vehicles. Its goal is the deployment of a zeroemission/ zero-accident intelligent mobility systems accessible by all.

MOBILITY AS A SERVICE

Automated/autonomous driving is a disruptive technology that opens the door to future multi-billion markets. It provides business opportunities to value chains in the automotive and semiconductor industry.

“One of the paradigm shifts, occurring in the automotive industry, is the emergence of Mobility as a Service. In aviation, this concept is already long established. Soon, all we will be concerned about is that we leave and arrive on schedule, safe and sound, and that the trip fulfils our wishes in terms of comfort and convenience. This is where the Lighthouse will focus its beam – to light the way to all the technical and non-technical issues, so that, along the roadmap, we can overcome bumps, obstacles and potholes that we may come up against.”
